The first album by the group appeared in 1970, Philips and included on the first page of the eponymous song "De Homine Urbano", a rock-ballet - supposedly the first in history - which was listed in 1969 at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. A year later, the group released their second album - "Green Man" - before, but broke apart in the same year.
Four years later Finn Olafsson and Peter Mellin decided to have another go with Stig Kreutzfeldt, Steen Toft Andersen (these earlier operated as the duo Stig & Steen) and Gert Smedegård (ex-Kashmir).
1976, found together a new lineup of ache that brought in two more albums: "Pictures From Cyclus 7" (1976) and "Blå Som Altid" (1977). After the group broke up for good.

The mid-70s found themselves in a new line-Ache recoup along with two more albums. From the band had at the beginning of the decade, "De Homine Urbano" and "Green Man" was recorded, only Finn Olafsson and Peter Mellin it. There were two lead singers. Accordingly, it is not surprising that the music on "Pictures From Cyclus 7", the first in 1976 appeared Reunionalbum the Danes, not much has to do with the bluesy Protoprog the first two LPs.
The third album in the discography of this highly regarded, the Danish formation. For four years a lot has changed and instead of the organ sound is dominated by the sounds of synthesizers - which softened the music, but fans of art-rock of the late 70s (in a climate of Yes and Eloy) certainly will be satisfied.
Similar to the Finnish team of Wigwam at the same time - see "Nuclear Nightclub" and "The Lucky Golden Stripes And Starpose" - turned Ache with this disc one only occasionally progtypischen Artpop that certain similarities with the U.S. mainstream productions can not deny. In particular, the expressive and polyphonic singing is strong in this direction, as evidenced by the fairly smooth, albeit powerful production is still supported. However, makes the extensive use of keys (Hammond, Moog, electric piano) and Ólafsson's sometimes extravagant guitar lines for a classic progressive component, which is expressed in sumptuous, almost bombastic and sonorous symphonic sections. In the longer songs like "Roses", "Still Hungry" and "Our Lives", "Outtroduction" and "Expectation" there are so few passages that lovers of melodic Symphoprog well could be satisfied. The rest is, however, from a progressive point of view not very interesting, but it offers well-made 70's pop with a claim that is personally recommended to me but sometimes a little too slimy and trashy. But he who has no aversion to lalalaaa Huhuhuhuuu and chants, which should therefore come clear.

"Pictures From Cyclus 7" is thus a perfectly produced and rehearsed Art pop album, which is not necessarily my cup of tea, but should make fans of American-style pop prog quite a lot of fun, even if here crossed the border into kitsch sometimes almost symphonic.adamus67https://www.blogger.com/profile/07035959023698485029noreply@blogger.com
